Há 3 anos, começando meu curso de engenharia na UFES, quando eu pensava no que faria em 2008, de uma coisa eu tinha certeza: estaria morando fora e com a faculdade trancada.

O intercâmbio ficou batendo na minha cabeça por muitos anos, ao mesmo tempo que eu ia aproveitando oportunidades de desenvolver liderança na AIESEC (www.aiesec.org.br)

Para 2009, um ano que terminarei minha universidade, acabo de ser eleito Presidente da AIESEC em Vitória. O processo de decisão para me candidatar foi muito díficil. Minha graduação chegando, a vontade de fazer intercâmbio, pressão financeira,...foram coisas que pesavam e me faziam conversar, conversar e conversar...com Deus e o mundo! =P


Gerenciar 150 pessoas em 2009, fazer planejamento estratégico, direcionar uma organização para resultados comuns...e a falta de resposta para a pergunta: como tornar a AIESEC relevante para o ES? Isso tudo com 22 anos seria realmente um desafio de liderança e empreendedorismo.


O processo de eleição é muito intenso: discursos, debates, votos...e o clima que se cria no escritório gera uma pressão enorme nos candidatos.



Quando o balde d'água caiu na minha cabeça, percebi que um ano de muito aprendizado estava chegando...e desabei a chorar =P


A sensação que tive no momento era de alto comprometimento com a experiência de mais de 200 pessoas que passarão pela AIESEC em 2009.


Mas além disso, era a sensação de um comprometimento maior com a minha própria experiência, me senti dono da minha carreira.

An International Conference Experience: Discovering, Empowering and Connecting...

The International Congress (IC) and the YOU CAN! 2008, the two biggest international conferences of AIESEC, have taken place in São Paulo this year.

I've spent two weeks in SP as a part of the Organizing Committee of one of those conferences (named YOU CAN) and I can tell you this was one of the most international experiences I've ever had!



I've been to Paris for an international meeting in 2006, when i met 200 youngs from 50 different countries, but being in my own country for this conference was even MORE international!


Talking to Ghana on the bus: african projects on entrepreneurship, cultural perceptions and future desires...

I've met people from over 100 countries! I had dinner and lunch with europeans, asians, latin americans, africans,...I noticed on details their cultural differences, ways of thinking and arguing for their own reasons,...



To organize an international conference brought me challenges all the time. Even when Putting 200 delegates in 5 buses in the middle of a paulista avenue in the rush time or balacing discussions between the Brazilian Embassy in Nigeria and the MC from Nigeria, having the Aiesec International Vice President for the Africa Region pressuring me for the delivery of visa to Nigerian delegates.



Sleeping a few hours per day ended up in a great conference, where we could meet together people from the whole AIESEC network in 106 countries.



One of the most happy moments for me was at the Global Village, an event held during the conference to promote cultural diversity. It happened in a park in São Paulo.



There, with just a few steps you could visit more than 100 countries. In 3 hours, I've talked to leaders from Malaysia, met people from the distant kazakhstan, found out about flavors of the indian typical food...



or just met American guys trhiving on a leadership project to promote cultural understanding around the world...



The diversity of actions, projects, atttudes is incredible! Seeing people moving themselves to generate real changes in society was one the biggest learnings I've brought back home.



I've also met great friends I've made through the AIESEC network...



and said goodbye to recent friends that are already going back home like Audrey from France...



It was also about new connections...discussing Talent Management strategies with the Global Chair of TM for Aiesec International or with arabic girls from The Emirates...



...or meeting global leaders, like Lana who's now leading the impact of AIESEC in the development of young leaders in Jordan, in the middle east.



The experience of organizing this conference with other 13 guys was also incredible just because they are great! Really! They are high perfomers, they are team workers, they value learning experience...they are just great!



This conference was a great learning experience...all about team work, learned a lot about myself, personal values, the importance of having passions and dreams and leading personal changes when you want to achieve what you want...



I come back home thinking of how important it is to value what you believe, to have dreams and to connect yourself (worlwide) to people who share the same passions as you.

Steve Jobs

Recentemente, vi um video do Steve Jobs falando para um grupo de alunos recém formados em Stanford.



Falta um ano para eu me formar na engenharia e chego ao final do curso com perspectivas um pouco quanto “diferentes” das de quando eu entrei.

Pensava em fazer mestrado e doutorado, pesquisas, ganhar dinheiro sendo engenheiro em empresas...hoje penso em trabalhar em organizações internacionais, com empreendedorismo, responsabilidade corporativa, estratégias, vendas, recursos humanos,...


Acompanhando Jobs:

Universidade: em uma conferência, um empresário que tinha feito matemática e trabalhava com desenvolvimento econômico (do Brasil) em uma grande organização disse que o curso não tinha sido um limitante na carreira dele e que a universidade, sim, tinha sido sua experiência mais formadora.



Jobs: “Eu decidi sair da universidade. Essa foi uma decisão assustadora, mas olhando para trás foi uma das melhores da minha vida. No momento em que sai, pude parar de me preocupar com o que era obrigatório para dar atenção ao que me interessava.”

Sua carreira é única. E é na universidade que você começa a traçar seu diferencial.

Futuro: Imprevisível. Planejar pode dar diretrizes, mas o sentido das coisas só virá mesmo quando você olhar para trás.



Jobs: “Você tem que acreditar que as coisas farão sentido no futuro. Acredite no que quiser: destino, karma, a vida, etc. Pensar assim nunca me deixou triste e fez toda a diferença na minha vida.”

Particularmente, tenho a filosofia de que no final tudo dá certo ou que, pelo menos, aconteceu da maneira como tinha que ser.

Paixão pelo que se faz

Jobs: “Você tem que encontrar o que você ama. Seu trabalho vai tomar uma grande parte da sua vida e você só estará satisfeito se sentir que está fazendo um excelente trabalho.”

Não se acomode.



Aproveitar seu tempo: lembrar que vamos morrer é uma forma de nos fazer tomar boas decisões. Todo orgulho, medo de falhar, expectativas,... Tudo some diante da morte. Você se sente nu, não tem razão para que você não siga seu coração.

Todo resto é secundário.

That's the name of the international conference that I'm going to organize with other amazing 14 people from 5 different countries! (Armenia, Portugal, Australia, Canada and Brazil).


YouCan! is an international conference held annually along side of AIESEC International Congress.

It aims at strengthening the AIESEC global network, offering members from 100 different countries the opportunity to meet each other around the issue of global young leadership development.


In 2005, it was India, in 2006, in Poland, last year in Turkey and now...It's in Brazil! The conference will happen in São Paulo, in August!

A perfect "Global Village" will take place in there...and there's a team to make it all happen, whose is the final responsibility for the quality of this conference...and here it is:

Nara, from Rio de Janeiro, works on the support to delegates, concerning rooms, registration, hotel, etc.

João, from portugal, is also responsible for on site logistics concerning delegates and other logistics support!









Thiago "Jumanji", from AIESEC in ITA (São paulo) is responsible for the conference's events logistics!









Cainã, from Maringá (PR), is responsible for planning and tracking the logistics support for the conference agenda!







Carina, from Recife, will design the 'products' that will be sold during the confenrence (t-shirts, mugs, etc.)!

Falar de carreira é uma das coisas que eu mais gosto!


Um livro récem lançado, de um autor chamado Dan Pink, traz 6 dicas de carreira interessantes:

Dica 1: Planos de carreira não são muito úteis! Segundo o autor por mais que se planeje as coisas saem de maneira diferente. Segundo ele, a melhor coisa é se preocupar com a "maneira" como as escolhas são feitas...



E que as pessoas mais bem sucedidas são aquelas que fazem escolhas baseadas em valores/ paixão/ sentido e não com base em tradicionalismo/ no que é esperado delas/ convencional.





























Dica 2: Foco nas suas fortalezas! Não nas franquezas!


As pessoas são extramamente bem sucedidas quando unem paixão por algo com aquilo que elas tm de mais forte.


Dica 3: Não é sobre você! É uma questão de "adicionar valor"! Focar naquilo que vc tem de mais forte e ter paixão não são suficientes para se ter sucesso! É fundamental que você se desenvolva, contribuindo para o desenvolvimento dos outros.



Dica 4: Persistência vence sobre o talento! O mundo está cheio de pessoas talentosas que desistiram pelo meio do caminho e que foram deixadas para trás por pessoas que persistiram mais.




Dica 5: Cometa bons e EXCELLENTES erros!
